Gaylord Lopez is a graduate of the University of California at San Francisco, School of Pharmacy where he received his Doctorate in Pharmacy. Following graduation, he went on to complete a Post Graduate Fellowship in Clinical Toxicology at the Pittsburgh Poison Center,University of Pittsburgh, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.Since 1988 he has been Director of the Georgia Poison Center located at Grady Health System. In 1992, he attained Diplomate status with the American Board of Applied Toxicology and has been re-credentialed five additional times since. Additionally, he has an appointment as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mercer University School of Pharmacy, South University School of Pharmacy, PCOM School of Pharmacy, University of Georgia School of Pharmacy, MedicalUniversity of South Carolina School of Pharmacy, Creighton University School of Pharmacy, Xavier University School of Pharmacy and most recently University of St. Joseph’s School of Pharmacy in Connecticut.
Dr. Lopez is active as an expert witness and sits on numerous boards and committees with the American Association of Poison Control Centers.
